Mr. Krabbenhoft is president and chief executive officer of Sanford Health and is responsible for the overall vision and direction of this organization. Sanford Health is an integrated health system headquartered in the Dakotas. It is the largest, not-for-profit health care system in the region with 43 hospitals and 243 clinics in nine stated and three countries. With 27,000 employees, including 1,400 physicians in more than 80 specialty areas of medicine, Sanford Health is the largest employer in the Dakotas. Nearly $1 billion in gift from philanthropist Denny Sanford have allowed for several initiatives, including global children’s clinics, genomic medicine and specialized centers researching cures for type 1 diabetes, breast cancer and other diseases.

Previous positions held by Mr. Krabbenhoft include: president and chief executive officer of Sanford Health System, Sioux Falls, SD, president and chief executive officer, Freeman Health System, Joplin, MO; executive vice president, Sisters of Mary of the Presentation Health Corporation, Fargo, ND; president, St. Margaret’s Hospital, Spring Valley, IL; president, Guttenberg Hospital, Guttenberg, IA. Mr. Krabbenhoft holds an MBA degree from Minnesota State University, Mankato, and a BA degree in business and hospital administration from Concordia College, Moorehead, MN.

Mr. Krabbenhoft also serves in leadership roles with community development and education organizations and in national professional and industry member associations.
